Now that the facts are in…

I think it was thirty minutes into the shooting event with Congresswoman Gifford when the Liberal media and Liberal politicians began their reckless rage against Free Speech, the Second Amendment and Conservative views of every kind. They used the shooting to promote their political agenda to have more government control over free speech and their political opponents. Shameful.

Now that the facts are in and we learn that none of those things contributed to the gunman’s actions against the Congresswoman, a Republican Federal Judge and random victims, will the Media apologize for their journalistic malpractice and set the record straight?

Journalistic malpractice is in the eyes of the beholder.
I’m sure if it was a Republican congressperson shot by a deranged liberal, the media would have handled it just the same. And if they didn’t, Rush & Glenn would have spewed enough vitriol for ALL the media. Their mouths would be screaming so loud that their eyes would pop out of their heads. And everyconservative would be agreeing with them.
Like I said….all in the eyes of the beholder.

  2. girlscout says:

And talk about journalistic malpractice! How about website malpractice? Sarah Palin putting crosshairs of a rifle over politicians she doesn’t like on a map of the country?? REALLY?? How mature! What a coincidence that Gabrielle was one of her crosshairs. What is the obsession that conservatives have with guns?? Personally, I hate them and wouldn’t have one if you gave it to me for free.

GS: You are really taking all this talk of shoddy journalism too personally, hybrid. If you don’t like it, then don’t watch it or listen to it.

Actually it is more than talk. It is comparing the facts that are coming out to what is was initially being reported by the liberal media (ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN etc) and finding a vast chasm between the two. If we can’t trust our media to report facts, and not opinions it leaves a free people open to tyranny.

Hi GirlScout. Happy New Year to you and yours.

GS: Journalistic malpractice is in the eyes of the beholder.
I’m sure if it was a Republican congressperson shot by a deranged liberal, the media would have handled it just the same.

If you mean that the liberal media and liberals in Congress would seek to impose more government control if a Republican Congressperson was shot, I would agree with you. Like their leader has done these last two years, exploit ever crisis for political gain.

GS: And if they didn’t, Rush & Glenn would have spewed enough vitriol for ALL the media. Their mouths would be screaming so loud that their eyes would pop out of their heads. And everyconservative would be agreeing with them.
Like I said….all in the eyes of the beholder.

Doubtful. Maybe that is what you believe because others have said it would be so, but what evidence do you have of the past when such a thing has happened? You could be right, but I don’t remember any.

When the Fort Hood shooting happened the President said we shouldn’t jump to any conclusions about the motive of the shooter. Allah akbar GirlScout! Turned out to be a sleeper Muslim terrorist.

When the Times Square bomber happened, the Mayor and the liberal media told us that the perpetrator of the crime was a Right-wing conservative nut-case who was upset at the government imposed health care bill. Turned out to be a Muslim terrorist.

When the individual went into the Discovery Channel building and shot up the place, early reports were that a right-wing nut-job upset about global warming legislation was to blame. Turned out a liberal tree-hugger nut-job was the perpetrator of that crime too.

On and on and on it goes. The liberals lost the election because there are conservative medias that also provide a view of the news and the majority of American’s dump the liberal views and vote conservative. Now, those liberals seek to silence the conservative voice by tying crazy and violent Liberal nut-jobs to Conservative leaders (Beck, Rush, Palin…) and Conservative media (Fox). There is no excuse for this liberal media journalist malpractice, and I feel sad for you that you excuse it.

GS: And talk about journalistic malpractice! How about website malpractice? Sarah Palin putting crosshairs of a rifle over politicians she doesn’t like on a map of the country?? REALLY?? How mature! What a coincidence that Gabrielle was one of her crosshairs.

Maybe your news supplier didn’t report that the shooter had been obsessed with Gifford since 2007. Check your time line and you will discover that Palin didn’t show up on the sceen until 2008. Also, ABC news reported that the shooter didn’t watch CNN or FOX news. He didn’t listen to talk radio. He didn’t even vote in the last election. He was just crazy and for some reason the focus of his crazy was on Congresswoman Gifford. Worse, the local law enforcement knew this and did nothing. So your obsession with blaming Sarah Palin for the shooting is totally out of line. And do you remember back in the 1990s election with Clinton? The liberals had a motto for the youth voters. It was “Vote or DIE”. Crazy how hypocracy rules in politics.

GS: What is the obsession that conservatives have with guns?? Personally, I hate them and wouldn’t have one if you gave it to me for free.

It is an obsession with the Constitution and American Rights. See the Second Amendment for details.

You are really taking all this talk of shoddy journalism too personally, hybrid. If you don’t like it, then don’t watch it or listen to it. As I don’t take a tally of conservative bias or liberal bias in the news, I can’t give you a list of “for and against”. I simply don’t have the time.

  6. girlscout says:

Oh and hybrid, I NEVER said that Sarah Palin’s website was the cause of the deranged shooter’s actions. I just pointed out that this is a very unethical thing to put on one’s website.
I heard on my liberal media that the shooter has been obsessed with her for years. I heard on my liberal media that this guy is a WACKO. So, please point out to me where I said it was her fault! I merely mentioned that it was website malpractice to put something like that out there.

  7. girlscout says:

I know all about the 2nd Amendment too. A Right to Bear Arms. As the British are no longer out to get us, I personally don’t feel the need to own one. I put my trust in the Armed Forces. That still doesn’t answer my question as to why so many are OBSESSED with guns. This shooter had a semi-automatic with 9 extra clips? Really? Is this what our founding fathers wanted? I don’t think so.

    • hybridtalk1 says:

GS: I know all about the 2nd Amendment too. A Right to Bear Arms. As the British are no longer out to get us, I personally don’t feel the need to own one.

Well, the Founding Fathers were not only focused on the British. They were very wise men in that generation and they understood that the power of government had historically been used to enslave a people. That isn’t the government they wanted. So the right to bear arms is a right to protect one self from an abusive tyranical government.

Here are some quotes from the founders to consider that you won’t learn by watching ABC news…

“On every question of construction (of the Constitution) let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed.” (Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, June 12, 1823, The Complete Jefferson, p. 322)

“The whole of the Bill (of Rights) is a declaration of the right of the people at large or considered as individuals…. It establishes some rights of the individual as unalienable and which consequently, no majority has a right to deprive them of.” (Albert Gallatin of the New York Historical Society, October 7, 1789)

“The right of the people to keep and bear arms has been recognized by the General Government; but the best security of that right after all is, the military spirit, that taste for martial exercises, which has always distinguished the free citizens of these States….Such men form the best barrier to the liberties of America” – (Gazette of the United States, October 14, 1789.)

“No Free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.” (Thomas Jefferson, Proposal Virginia Constitution, 1 T. Jefferson Papers, 334,[C.J.Boyd, Ed., 1950])

“The right of the people to keep and bear…arms shall not be infringed. A well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the best and most natural defense of a free country…” (James Madison, I Annals of Congress 434 [June 8, 1789])

“A militia, when properly formed, are in fact the people themselves…and include all men capable of bearing arms.” (Richard Henry Lee, Additional Letters from the Federal Farmer (1788) at 169)

“What, Sir, is the use of a militia? It is to prevent the establishment of a standing army, the bane of liberty…. Whenever Governments mean to invade the rights and liberties of the people, they always attempt to destroy the militia, in order to raise an army upon their ruins.” (Rep. Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts, spoken during floor debate over the Second Amendment [ I Annals of Congress at 750 {August 17, 1789}])

“…to disarm the people – that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them.” (George Mason, 3 Elliot, Debates at 380)

  8. girlscout says:

Oh, and Happy New Year to you, too!

  9. hybridtalk1 says:

GS: Oh and hybrid, I NEVER said that Sarah Palin’s website was the cause of the deranged shooter’s actions. I just pointed out that this is a very unethical thing to put on one’s website.

Basically, you are repeating what the Liberals in the media are saying to infer that she is somehow responsible for the shooting. After all, if she didn’t have those “targets” on her website, there would have been no shooting (or so the media tells us). In other words, they are trying to blame a successful conservative voice that they fear for the shooting. You are just doing their bidding by repeating what they say. Sorry.

Now, who are you to determine that having targets on a website to illustrate where you want to have a political impact is unethical or not? Are you the new arbitrator of what is ethical and what is not? Are you now going to demand that the department store named “Target” change their name? Will you call for the football offensive formation known as “Shotgun” be called something softer like “toss back”?

Please GS, you are better than this. You don’t have to be a slave to the liberal manipulation of the common folk who are so uninformed. I believe in you GS.

Again, the facts are in. Dump all the mumbo-jumbo you heard when the shooting first happened and be informed. See how the media seeks to hurd you into their control. Get facts and be informed. Getting rid of free speech will not prevent shooting in the future no matter how badly liberals want it to be true. They just want to silence the conservative voice. Let’s not let them.

  10. girlscout says:

Oh please. Target stores? Really? Since Target is a brand name and doesn’t have anyone’s name in mind to put ON the target……oh, why do I bother?! It’s like arguing with my mother……
I am the arbitrator of what I think is ethical to ME!! And little old ME thinks this is unethical.
And blah, blah, blah about your opinions on me listening to the liberal media. Yu think I’m brainwashed by them, just like I think your brainwashed by conservative media.
    Stalemate.

    • hybridtalk1 says:

Hey, calm your angry rhetoric before someone accuses you of being responsible for encouraging some nut-case to kill a congress person and others.

Thanks to your words someone out there will now seek to kill someone at a Target store…

Or so goes the liberal belief system we have been introduced to over the last six days…

    • hybridtalk1 says:

GS: I am the arbitrator of what I think is ethical to ME!! And little old ME thinks this is unethical.

And still you reference Palin’s website, just like the Liberal media wants you to.

  11. hybridtalk1 says:

The attempt by liberals to paint the Tea Party movement as a dangerous aberration that breeds homicidal maniacs is simply egregious. The Tea Party is a movement by everyday Americans who are sincerely concerned about the due intrusion of the federal government into their lives. If the last election is anything to go by, most current American voters are either part of it or in sympathy with at least some of its goals. In other words, Tea Party is a broad mainstream political phenomenon. That liberals want to brand it as part of a lunatic fringe is offensive beyond words.

As more information comes out about the shooter, the liberals’ initial attempt at the blame game has become painfully embarrassing to them. We must, however, keep reminding the nation of what they tried to do, because it teaches an important lesson.

Carried away by the hope of scoring political points, liberals inadvertently revealed something about themselves and their system of beliefs. They showed us that liberalism is a convoluted ideology that strips its proponents of their humanness to the point where they do not think, act or feel like regular people.

May their behavior not become only a sad footnote to this tragedy, but may it be long remembered. Let the people of this nation behold the repulsive ugliness of liberalism and may they recoil from it in disgust.

    —————————————————————————– also —-

A high school friend of the accused gunman dismissed speculation that Loughner’s alleged rampage was sparked by political passion.

“He did not watch TV, he disliked the news,” Zach Osler said. “He didn’t listen to political radio, he didn’t take sides, he wasn’t on the left, he wasn’t on the right.”

Osler said that Loughner was angry at the world.

“He wasn’t shooting people, he was shooting at the world,” the friend said.

  12. therealgirlscout says:

Once again, I am not blaming politics or the media or Palin’s website as the reason this shooter did what he did. As I said above, he is a WACKO!! And frankly, all the news I’ve listened to has not once said that any of the above were responsible for his actions. I think it is wishful thinking on your part, for the sake of a good argument against the mainstream media, to stir the turd, as princess used to say! I also can say that I haven’t heard ANYTHING in the media about how this is the fault of the Tea Party. You brought them up, not me.

  13. myfoxmystere says:

Hybrid, I know the media will not apologize, but they will push a liberal agenda further. On the West Coast, we have heard that the shooter had ties to the left wing liberals. And Sheriff “Dipstick” as some call him has used the tragedy to push the left wing agenda…with ultimate embarassment.

  14. princess says:

funny how girly is all “up in arms” over some “bullseye” advertisement….but didn’t blink an eye when the “ONE” said “if they bring a knife, you bring a GUN”. yes, that’s GUN.
hmmmmmm wonder which thing is more inflammatory……a regular CITIZEN using a bullseye as an advertisement TOOL or our PRESIDENT telling people to bring a GUN?
    btw all, happy new year!

  15. princess says:

but yet, we have yet to see the so called “media” (gag!) point the finger at the “ONE”….and he SAID it. BRING A GUN!

  16. therealgirlscout says:

I thought all the conservatives would embrace Obama’s statement about the gun. Since they all think liberals are against guns, this should make you like him MORE! I think if Bush would have said this, you would have praised him. Rah, Rah, militaristic force and all that…..

  17. therealgirlscout says:

And it still never ceases to amaze me that conservatives think that ALL so-called liberal media is ALWAYS wrong and all conservative media choices are ALWAYS right. It’s just not possible.

    • hybridtalk1 says:

Well not all Liberal outlets are wrong, just the ones that report thirty minutes after a gunman shoots a congresswoman that he is a Right Wing hate monger who acted on orders from Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh and that the reason for the shooting is the hostile tone by Tea Party members in congress who what to give the people the right to control their government according to the guidlines of the Constitution of America.

Just those who report that any American who disagrees with President Obama is a racist…

      • girlscout says:

That’s funny hybrid. I watched what you call liberal media and I never heard any comment about the Tea Party, right-wing hate mongers or any of your other statements listed above. Please tell me what “media” you heard these things on.

  18. therealgirlscout says:

And if conservatives think that Palin’s website with the crosshairs was only “figuratively speaking” and she never really meant any harm to the people she had crosshaired, then the comment Obama made was also “figuratively speaking” about a political “campaign fight” and did not really mean any harm to McCain.
    Sounds like another stalemate.

  19. Hacksaw says:

“And talk about journalistic malpractice! How about website malpractice? Sarah Palin putting crosshairs of a rifle over politicians she doesn’t like on a map of the country?? REALLY?? How mature! What a coincidence that Gabrielle was one of her crosshairs. What is the obsession that conservatives have with guns?? Personally, I hate them and wouldn’t have one if you gave it to me for free.”

The use of combat analogies & political “targeting” of certain people & areas for electoral defeat is widely used practice by both Republicans & Democrats, as evidenced by this “target map” created by Democrats:

And Happy New Year to you all! 🙂

  20. therealgirlscout says:

…And therefore the comment by Obama on the “knife and gun” falls under the same category – political targeting. Therefore, if it’s not wrong for Palin to do it, then it’s not wrong for Obama either.

  21. hybridtalk1 says:

GS: “That’s funny hybrid. I watched what you call liberal media and I never heard any comment about the Tea Party, right-wing hate mongers or any of your other statements listed above. Please tell me what “media” you heard these things on.”

Really? Just after it happened I was going through the cable stations and it had begun. I went to local media (5, 8, 19) and they were also reporting the same.

Sunday the talking head shows had Liberals on blaming Palin and her website and twitters.

  22. therealgirlscout says:

I don’t have Cable TV, so don’t watch any of those. I usually watch Fox and NBC and I didn’t hear that on either one.

  23. therealgirlscout says:

Actually, I haven’t heard ANYTHING about the Tea Party on this subject until YOU mentioned it.

  24. princess says:

girly, regarding all that campaign rhetoric that uses war analogies…….MOST conservatives didn’t “bat an eye” over oblahblah’s statements about bring a gun, or mccain’s “fight”, or palin’s “bulleye’s. MOST of us are smart enough to understand that they are advertising TOOLS only & not meant to encourage someone to kill or hurt others. they are a TOOL only………..
but, as hybrid & hack keep trying to get YOU to see is that the LIBERAL mainstream (CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, etc) media (using the term VERY lightly) tried (and failed miserably, as usual) to tie this VIOLENT, NONSENSE baloney ON that very same TOOL used by Sarah Palin. this is a textbook “trick” used by the most LEFT LIBERALS to demonize anyone who disagrees with them.
now i don’t know about you, but i would never allow myself to be associated with people who actually “believe” (ugh, there’s that WORD again) that not only is this the “right” thing to do, but actually “believe” their own baloney.
i would be ashamed to call myself a “liberal”.
you even said it yourself that the bullseye on Sarah Palin’s map was “unethical” & made it clear you thought she shouldn’t be using the analogies. but yet, the gun reference was evidently “OK” with you since you weren’t complaining about it when it the “one” said it.
    hypocritcal? certainly! nonsense? absolutely.
again, both words describe the LIBERALS in this country.

    • therealgirlscout says:

I certainly don’t need to point out the things that Obama says that are wrong. Everyone else on here does a FINE job of that. Anymore than you would point out anything a conservative did that was wrong. It’s human nature to point out the OTHER side’s faults. Every conservative in here likes to point out how terrible liberals are on a regular basis, so I just said her actions were unethical. I NEVER said I thought what Obama said was ethical. I was ONLY pointing out that if it’s okay for Palin to do it, then conservatives shouldn’t complain when Obama does it.

  25. princess says:

note the title of the post………………..now that the FACTS are in.
but, liberals aren’t interested in FACTS if they don’t fit the agenda.

we’ve seen it thousands of times on the blogs…………they don’t bother with FACTS. they make crap up & try to dress it up as FACT.

frankly, i will never understand it. once one removes all the baloney, drama & emotional crap from ANY issue, the TRUTH will win out.

and there’s the HUGE difference between conservatives & liberals. conservatives are only interested in FACTS, without all the smoke & mirrors of the wah wah wah.

all liberals want is the smoke & mirrors of the wah wah wah blah blah blah CRAP so that they can HIDE & AVOID the FACTS.

what the LIBERALS did with THIS issue is concrete PROOF isn’t it?

  26. therealgirlscout says:

That’s your opinion and you’re entitled to it. You will ALWAYS thing that liberals are the devil incarnate. So be it.

  27. therealgirlscout says:

And since I have NEVER been able to figure out how to submit a post on this site, (pb tried to tell me but there just isn’t anything I can click on to do so), I can only comment on other’s posts. Don’t know why I bother anyway. I’m the only “liberal” left in here and I’m outnumbered. And since all the right-wingers seem to have time to find all these accusatory articles on their conservative websites and media, and I don’t have time to do that, my input seems to be pointless.

  28. princess says:

nah girly, sometimes i AM wrong…and when i am, i admit it freely. but on THIS you ARE wrong…..you decided that palin’s “tool” was “unethical” BEFORE you had all the facts simply because you “believed” the baloney that was being fed by the MSM.

but yet, you STILL haven’t admitted that the “ONE” was “unethical” with HIS violent suggestions……….if ONE of them is wrong & unethical, then BOTH are. but you just can’t seem to get yourself to admit it.

and yes, i still like you too………

    • therealgirlscout says:

Did I not just tell you in a previous comment that I NEVER said what Obama said was right?? (See comment from 3:07PM) Don’t like the way I worded it or something? Okay What Obama said was wrong! There, are you happy now? And I believe that putting crosshairs on a map of politicians you don’t like is also wrong. As you are entitled to your opinion – SO AM I!

  29. princess says:

when i first heard about this………i KNEW immediately that the guy with the gun was at fault. NO ONE ELSE. just the guy with the gun.

i never thought for one second that the fault for this lies anywhere BUT on the guy with the gun. ALL OF THE responsibility for this awful act lies on HIM and ONLY him.

    was i right? absolutely!

  30. therealgirlscout says:

And I totally agree with you. It was HIS fault because he is a WACKO! I never said it was Palin’s fault. I just had the misfortune to put my opinion about her “targets” on the same post, so you all assumed I thought it was her fault. Like I said, I can’t put my own posts on here, so I just have to post my opinions under another post.

  31. princess says:

    ya i can’t post either….can’t remember how.
wonder if hybrid or hack could help us out? guys?
